About Green Mountain Beer Company: local taproom with craft beer, Lakewood, CO
Green Mountain Beer Company is the outcome of a small group of friends sharing a common idea. Formerly employed at Big Corporate Brewery, head brewer Brian Milhaupt was enamored with the process of brewing and driven to master the artisanal old world European types of beer.
Batch after batch, his brews rapidly improved a great deal and to the point where his friends frequently advised him that he should market his beer. Their support set the wheels in motion, and Brian quickly decided to build a brewery. Brian's wife Liz and climbing partner Cassidy, along with his girlfriend Brandi, quickly joined.
The brewery's construction formally started in late 2015. The tables and bar top are repurposed from Golden Bowl's retired 1950's era bowling lanes. The brewery was constructed as an open brewing and tasting facility. A big terrace was created, as well as a food truck lane. Crawford Company in Rock Island, IL developed the brewery's unique 15 barrel brewing system in the United States.
GMBC officially opened near Lakewood CO in November 2016 and was met with enthusiasm by the community. It is a family-friendly establishment that welcomes dogs on the terrace and is conveniently located near various restaurants.
GMBC's beer is now available in an increasing number of high-quality restaurants throughout town near Lakewood CO.
