Teeth Alignment with Clear Aligners

Beautiful New Smile Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics Lakewood

It's natural to want a bright and even grin, especially since it's the first part most people see about you. Per the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the majority of American citizens view a smile as an important social characteristic. But, many are concerned about the appearance of their teeth when they are fitted with noticeable metal brackets. Fortunately, less inconspicuous orthodontic dental services are now available, like Invisalign transparent aligners.

Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics offers an alternative solution to straightening your teeth in a less conspicuous, virtually invisible approach—a feature that is among the greatest cosmetic benefits in modern orthodontics. For some, traditional dental braces aren't suitable for them, particularly in a professional or social setting, as the wires and brackets could affect the way they talk or interact with people. Invisalign clear aligners offer the ability to show off your teeth and give you that confidence to smile without worrying about the brackets and wires of metal braces. Invisalign also works great for Child orthodontics.

Straighten Your Smile Discreetly

Invisalign® is a type of orthodontic treatment that straightens the teeth and corrects bad bites by wearing a system of clear, lightweight plastic custom aligners on the upper and lower arch.  It can enhance the contour of your face by restructuring your teeth and jaws. Furthermore, Invisalign minimizes the risk of diseases of oral cavity, salivary glands, and jaws, tooth decay, and alleviates tension on your Temporomandibular joint (TMJ), hence reducing inflammation and pain associated with TMJ disorder. Invisalign aligners are also suitable for periodontology and are beneficial for people who have gum or periodontal disease.

Invisalign is like clear braces which offer a more discreet look and feel, but that’s where their similarities end. Each clear aligner is made from clear plastic, free from Bisphenol A; therefore, it is more comfortable than traditional metal braces or lingual braces. Apart from being virtually invisible, these orthodontic appliances are removable; thus, patients can take them off when brushing your teeth, eating food, chewing gums, speaking to someone, or rinsing their mouths with a fluoride mouthwash. We will provide a set of clear aligners that you need to wear for two weeks. These laser-cut aligners are designed to exert pressure on your teeth and direct minor yet accurate movements to correct orthodontic problems such as crowded teeth, deep bites, crossbite, Underbite, and overbite, significantly improving one's facial features. Following Invisalign treatment, orthodontists can perform minor tooth reshaping or contouring.

Dental anatomy plays a key role in the reshaping of all dental treatments. Experienced orthodontists take anatomical considerations into account while creating undercuts and moving teeth. The movement caused by the aligners is preceded by bone as well as cementum resorption and they can even move a molar (tooth). The old aligners have served their purpose after two weeks and then you'll be given a new set. You'll be wearing a new set of aligners every two weeks until the teeth have been straightened.

Align Technology manufactures Invisalign® aligners. Additionally, it is the developer of the iTero Element® scanner—a market-leading digital scanner capable of generating 3D impressions of your teeth in just a few minutes—and a variety of additional 3D digital scanners. Additionally, the Invisalign® SmileView™ simulator is an advanced technology that allows you to preview your final smile after therapy.

How long does the treatment take?

During an initial consultation, Dr. T.C. Hardy will scan and take an impression of your teeth. He will create a unique treatment plan for you that is based on the impression made of the teeth. You'll be getting custom-made, clear aligners to take home with you afterward. You are required to wear these aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day (including the time when you sleep) for two to three weeks before you move on to the next set of aligners. These sets of aligners will shift your teeth gradually until the desired position is made. These aligners can be removed when necessary, like when eat, drink, brush, or floss your teeth.

Most patients do not experience discomfort or pain with their invisible braces. However, during the first dental visit, your dentist might use sedation. Moreover, during the first few days of wearing your aligners, they may influence your speech, resulting in some mild speech issues. Not to worry, it will vanish shortly. The number of treatment aligners required and the duration of the treatment depend on the needs of the patient. On average, patients will need 18 up to 30 aligners for as long as 9 to 15 months to achieve the desired results. Severe cases might take up to 2 years to treat. A more intricate situation may necessitate the use of bonding attachments to aid in alignment. Additionally, an unforeseen emergency, such as a broken or missing aligner tray, may need an extension of your treatment. Dr. T.C. Hardy will assist you with your progress throughout the Invisalign treatment period.

If you are already receiving Invisalign treatment and would like to whiten your teeth, your dentist can advise you on the best whitening product and how to use it effectively and safely.

Invisalign Types

Invisalign Adults

While many of us believe that straighter teeth are only beneficial for youngsters, we should not neglect in taking care of our own mouths too. Invisalign offers the ability to show off your teeth and confidently smile without worrying about the brackets and wires that traditional braces have. With Invisalign clear removable aligners, Dr. T.C. Hardy can help to gradually position the permanent teeth in the desired location and improve the issues of your bite without the hassles of metal braces. Adults can wear Invisalign even if they have missing teeth. However, it is up to the orthodontist to decide whether it is the right treatment for you. After an initial screening and taking x-rays of your full mouth, your doctor will decide the proper treatment for you.

Many people, especially adults, require a combination of treatments to achieve the smile they want, including Invisalign®, porcelain veneers, and crowns. Indeed, several candidates for Invisalign® have already had substantial different restorative treatments, including dentures and bridges. Nevertheless, Invisalign still works properly with the majority of these dental restorations.

More and more people recommend these invisible braces. Choose Invisalign to correct your smile without anyone noticing it!

Invisalign Teen

According to the American Dental Association, Invisalign aligners have increased in popularity among patients nationwide due to their numerous benefits, particularly in terms of aesthetics. Moreover, teenagers are shifting to Invisalign over traditional metal braces because the process of teeth straightening using traditional metal braces affects the way they eat, speak, and in cleaning their teeth. Metal braces are also known for causing self-confidence issues, and it can often lead to them being embarrassed when wearing them. Dr. T.C. Hardy offers Invisalign teen to teenagers who want to align their teeth without the disadvantage of traditional metal braces.

Underbite-

Invisalign First for Kids

What is Invisalign First

Aside from regular oral hygiene, in order to achieve a beautiful smile, one needs a variety of dental treatments to treat dental issues early in childhood even before all the deciduous teeth have erupted. Invisalign First is the latest innovation of Invisalign aimed at treating the oral health conditions of children even during tooth development. Invisalign First lets children use Invisalign aligners to straighten their baby teeth. The trays are designed to fit the jawline of a growing youngster and steadily expand it. It is an early ortho treatment that not only aligns teeth and corrects tooth protrusions, but also tackles the pathology of the maxilla and mandible, as well as a plethora of jaw problems such as dental arch expansion, narrow dental arches, and arch growth—all of which contribute to a kid's overall smiling attractiveness.

Invisalign First has been shown to be an effective orthodontic treatment option when significant thumb-sucking management is necessary. Additionally, since Align Technology created Invisalign® Stickables, children may now express themselves through their colored aligners in a variety of exciting and interesting ways.

Invisalign Express

Invisalign express/Lite is specifically made for people who have less spacing and teeth crowding issues. Express utilizes a smaller set of aligners, between five and ten, that are replaced every 2 weeks, as opposed to standard clear aligners, which can require 25 or more series. It can typically be faster and more affordable. Use of a clear retainer is expected once your orthodontic problem has been treated in order to keep your teeth in their new and improved position. Retainers can be cemented to position or removable. Retainers need to be worn every day for a while until you’re allowed to only wear them at night.

Invisalign treats following issues

  • For Crossbite
  • Open Bite Malocclusion
  • For Overbite
  • For Underbite
  • Tooth gap (Diastema) -  space between the teeth

How much is an Invisalign treatment? The Cost of Invisalign can range from $3,500 to $8,000. Also, follow-up checkups may be necessary, increasing the treatment's overall cost. Nevertheless, among the several orthodontic treatments today, many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign, which may help you save money overall. Your insurance provider may even help pay up to $2000. Additional payment methods and financing choices, including health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, and dental office specials, all help to keep the cost down.
